ICT as a Communicative Tool

Applications, platforms, and other technologies that facilitate and improve communication are known as information and communication technology (ICT) tools. They make it easy to share information in both personal and group settings. These tools include media platforms that keep people informed about news, events, and trends. They support real-time conversations, large group messaging, and discussions, helping people stay connected, collaborate, and understand each other better whether they are nearby or far apart. Examples include video conferencing, blogs, podcasts, online forums, and social media apps.

How I Use Communicative Tools in My Personal Life

I use apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, Telegram, TikTok, and Messenger a lot to keep in touch with my friends and family. They make it easy to chat, share photos, videos, and just stay connected, even if we are far apart. When I am on vacation, group chats are really helpful for making plans, sharing updates, and having fun conversations.

These apps also let me express myself. I like posting stories or photos that show how I am feeling or what I am up to. It helps me feel seen and supported. I also use social media to celebrate special moments, like birthdays, by sharing nice messages or memories. Seeing posts from others who feel the same way I do makes me feel less alone. Plus, I learn a lot from social media about different cultures, world events, and how other people see things. It helps me understand more about the world and be more open-minded.

How I Use Communicative Tools in My Professional Life

I also use communication tools a lot for school and work. In the university, we use things like the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and Telegram to share homework, notes, updates, and announcements. Teachers can post everything in one place, and we can check it anytime. Telegram is great for quick chats it helps students and teachers send links, files, questions, and reminders easily.

Since I am studying to become a teacher, I also use these tools to find useful things like workshops, events, job offers, and learning materials. Apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Telegram help me stay informed and take part in different activities. I use email, Zoom, and Google Meet for online classes and meetings, and to talk with teachers and classmates. I also find lots of helpful teaching ideas on social media, like lesson plans and fun classroom activities shared by other teachers. It really supports my learning and helps me get ready for my future job.

Disadvantages of Communicative Tools

Even though communication tools are helpful, they also have some downsides. Using social media too much can be distracting and make it hard to concentrate, especially when there are lots of notifications. It can also lead to less face-to-face talking, which is important for real, strong friendships. Sometimes messages can be misunderstood because you can’t hear someone’s voice or see their expressions. Depending too much on these tools can also make people feel stressed or anxious, especially if they feel like they must always check for updates. Fake news or wrong information can spread fast, which can confuse people. Sharing personal details online can also be unsafe if you are not careful. Online bullying is a big issue, especially for young people, and it can hurt feelings and mental health. In online classes or chats, some people might feel left out, and technical problems can make it hard to join or stay connected.
